41 x 23 Acrylic on canvas. My husband handed me a section of The Houston Chronicle one day, and said to me, “I thought of you when I saw this……I thought you might like to paint it”, so I did. The original painting, is similar, but not exact, was painted in the 14th century I believe, and forgive me, but I do not remember the name of the original artist, whom I believe was from Spain. Anyway, I do love the painting, and when I was reproducing it, making it my own, I wanted to convey what I feel the strength of America is all about at its core, for I see this woman displayed all throughout various parts of America, and to me she is the Spirit of a Great Woman……..”arising like the dawn, as fair as the moon, as bright as the sun, and as majestic as an army of billowing banners.”
